Congratulations to the NoiseCraft student duo and band who performed at this years Lilydale show. Your 1st and 2nd place was well deserved and most importantly you all got into the spirit and enjoyed the experience
This year we held our Jam Concerts at Mooroolbark Community Center and the kids loved the chance to perform on the big stage. Through this month over 90 bands rocked the venue and entertained the crowd. The performers were amazing and really shone like the stars they are
Kids this week had a blast with our newest guitar teacher Hayden. As a practising musician and qualified teacher Hayden understands the importance of child engagement and making music real. Welcome Hayden its great to have you on the team.
The annual Jam Concerts, held late last month, were again a great success. The children had the chance to perform in a supportive environment and feel like real 'rock stars'. We had bands performing everything from ACDC to Katy Perry.
At NoiseCraft we deeply believe that although performance is a wonderful tool for building self-esteem it can also be quite stressful for children. Studies have shown that undue stress can negate any emotional or learning opportunities. For this reason we keep our Jam concerts relatively low key with no pressure on any child to perform perfectly whilst still ensuring a performance that each child is proud of
Congratulations to every student who performed - you really are musos :)
We have just completed a wonderful program with grade 5's and 6,s at one of our schools. The children looked at literacy including the use of rhetoric devices and description through songwriting and there were some amazing outcomes. The engagement level of the students was incredible with teachers commenting on how even the reluctant writers were keen to create lyrics.
